Some of my earliest animation, instrumental in developing the process.
- Japanese Cheesewood Pittosporum tobira (attachment_00, swarm_00, swarm_01) While working on this one I nicknamed it "meat seed" and picked away seeds slowly to give it the appearance that the seed pod was juggling.
- Cudweed Gnaphalium (cudweed_00) Dried out flower heads I found on the oceanside cliffs in San Diego. I loved how the green and orange hues on the inner ring made them seem to light up and burn.
- Acacia cyclops (sphere_00) Nicknamed "Dark Disco Ball" one of my alltime favorite effects is achieved through applying this technique to spherical, natural objects. I love the shifting or shuffling effect like eyes opening, closing, and rising out of the spherical inflorescence.
As always let me know if you create anything compelling using these loops. They're dear to me and deserve to be out in the world where someone can stumble upon them just like I happened upon the original plants.
